You also have the right to make a complaint to the regulatory authority with responsibility for you. Your responsible regulatory authority depends on the Federal State in which you live or work or of the purported breach. A list of regulatory authorities (for the non-public sector) and their addresses can be found at: https://www.bfdi.bund.de/DE/Service/Anschriften/anschriften_table.html.

Purpose of data processing by the data controller and third parties

Capture of general information on visits to our website

When you access our website, a cookie is used to automatically collect general information. This information (stored in server log files) includes the type of web browser, the operating system, the domain name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and similar. None of this information can be used to identify you personally.

The information is necessary for technical reasons to correctly deliver the web pages requested by you; it is generated automatically by your use of the Internet. We process this information for the following purposes:

  • To ensure problem-free communications with our website,
  • To ensure easy use of our website,
  • To evaluate the security and stability of our systems,
  • For further administrative purposes.

Your personal data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest arising from the aforementioned purposes for the collection of data. We do not use your data to identify you personally. The recipients of this data are solely the data controller and any contracted data processor.

We may use anonymous data of this type for the purpose of statistical evaluation to optimise our website and the technology on which it is based.

Cookies

Like many other websites, we make use of cookies. Cookies are small text files that are transferred to your hard disk by the website server. They are used to automatically obtain certain data such as your IP address, web browser, operating system and Internet connection.

Cookies cannot be used to launch programs or transfer viruses to a computer. The information contained in the cookies allows us to make it easier for you to browse our website and ensure the web pages are displayed correctly.

Under no circumstances will we disclose this data to third parties or create a link to personal data without your consent.

You are also able to view our website without cookies. Web browsers are configured to accept cookies by default. In general, you can disable the use of cookies at any time in the settings of your web browser software. Please consult the help functions of your web browser to learn about changing these settings. Please note that some of the functions on our website may no longer work if you disable the use of cookies.

SSL encryption

To protect the integrity and security of your data when it is transferred, we use modern encryption processes (e.g. SSL) over HTTPS.

Comments function

When users leave a comment on our website, the comment is stored along with the time at which it was left, a user name selected by the website visitor and the visitor’s IP address. This is done for our security since we may be held liable for illegal content on our website, even if it was generated by visitors.

Verwendung von Scriptbibliotheken (Google Webfonts)

We use script and font libraries such as Google Webfonts (https://fonts.google.com/) to ensure that the content on our website is displayed properly in all browsers. We load these locally, there is usually no connection to the Google server.

For information if local storage is not possible: Google Webfonts stores information in your web browser application cache to avoid having to reload the font library. If your browser does not support or prevents the use of Google Webfonts, content is displayed using a standard font.

Accessing the script or font library automatically creates a connection to the library provider. Therefore it is theoretically possible that providers of such libraries may collect data, although whether and for what purpose is not currently clear.

Google AdWords

Our website uses Google Conversion Tracking. When you access our website from an advert placed on Google, Google Adwords places a cookie on your computer. The cookie is used for conversion tracking when a user clicks on an advert placed through Google. These cookies are valid for 30 days and are not used to identify you personally. When the user visits certain pages on our website and the cookie has not expired, we and Google can see that the user has clicked on the advert and has been forwarded to this page. Each Google AdWords customer is allocated a different cookie. Therefore, the cookie cannot be used to track use of websites of other AdWords customers. The information obtained using the conversion tracking cookie is used to prepare conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have chosen to deploy conversion tracking. The customers receive information including the total number of users who have clicked on their advert and have been forwarded to the page that contains a conversion tracking tag. However, they receive no information that can be used to personally identify the user.

If you do not wish to participate in the tracking function, you can reject the cookie that is used for this purpose, either by a general browser setting that blocks cookies being placed on your computer or by configuring your browser to block cookies from the domain “googleadservices.com”.

Please be aware that you must not delete the opt-out cookie if you wish to continue to opt out of the recording of these statistics. If you delete all cookies in your web browser you must set the opt-out cookie again.

Changes to our privacy policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy to ensure that it is up to date with the latest legal requirements and reflects any changes we make to our services or new services that we introduce. The new privacy policy will then apply to any subsequent visits to the website.
